Times Microwave LMR-195 is designed for flexibility, low loss, RF shielding, and weatherability.  LMR-195's cable design enables the tightest bend radius for any cable of similar size and performance.  The cable has the lowest loss of any comparable cable. With 90 dB of RF shielding this cable is suitable for applications with a large amount of EMI. LMR-195 can be installed both in and outdoors.  Use Times Microwave brand LMR-195 cable for any application (e.g. WLL, GPS, LMR, WLAN, WISP, WiMax, SCADA, Mobile Antennas) requiring an easily routed, low loss RF cable. LMR-195 is a drop-in replacement for RG58 and RG-142.

Q: What is the difference between LMR and Low Loss Cable?

A: Low Loss cable and LMR are equivalent terms. LMR is a brand-name invented by Times Microwave. Whenever someone uses the term "LMR", it is like using the word "Kleenex ®” instead of "tissue."

Q: Is LMR better than other Low Loss cables?

A: LMR from Times Microwave is a very high-quality cable, but it can also be quite expensive. We think that for most applications any of our low-loss cables will work. Generally, Times Microwave has more shielding than the others so it is best if you are working in an environment where EMI may be a significant factor. We have tried to provide as much technical detail about the products as possible to allow consumers to pick the right cable for their application.

Q: What is the difference between Low Loss coax cable and RG style coax cable?

A: The main difference between standard RG cable and low loss coaxial cable is the shielding. Low loss cable has far better shielding than typical RG style cable thus achieving better low loss characteristics.

Q: What is the difference between Low Loss and Low Loss UltraFlex?

A: Low Loss and Low Loss UltraFlex have two main differences. This first difference is the jacket. Low Loss uses a Polyethylene (PE) jacket. Low Loss UltraFlex uses a more flexible Thermoplastic Elastomer (TPE). Both cables are rated for indoor and outdoor applications. The second difference is the center conductor. Low Loss uses a solid center conductor. The Low Loss UltraFlex uses a more flexible stranded center conductor. Both cables have similar loss characteristics.
