For example at 2.4 GHz, 100 feet of RG-8 would have 13.1dB of signal loss versus only 6.6dB of signal loss with ECore Low Loss 400. With a durable Polyethylene jacket, these cables are suited for indoor and outdoor installations. ECore Low loss 400 is light and flexible.  The ECore low loss 400 cable is acceptable for Wi-Fi, Antenna Cables, Ham Radio, Patch Cables, Jumper Cables and much more.

A: Low Loss cable and LMR are equivalent terms. LMR is a brand-name invented by Times Microwave. Whenever someone uses the term "LMR", it is like using the word "Kleenex ®” instead of "tissue."

Q: Is LMR better than other Low Loss cables?

A: LMR from Times Microwave is a very high-quality cable, but it can also be quite expensive. We think that for most applications any of our low-loss cables will work. Generally, Times Microwave has more shielding than the others so it is best if you are working in an environment where EMI may be a significant factor. We have tried to provide as much technical detail about the products as possible to allow consumers to pick the right cable for their application.

Q: What is the difference between Low Loss coax cable and RG style coax cable?

A: The main difference between standard RG cable and low loss coaxial cable is the shielding. Low loss cable has far better shielding than typical RG style cable thus achieving better low loss characteristics.

Q: What is the difference between Low Loss and Low Loss UltraFlex?

A: Low Loss and Low Loss UltraFlex have two main differences. This first difference is the jacket. Low Loss uses a Polyethylene (PE) jacket. Low Loss UltraFlex uses a more flexible Thermoplastic Elastomer (TPE). Both cables are rated for indoor and outdoor applications. The second difference is the center conductor. Low Loss uses a solid center conductor. The Low Loss UltraFlex uses a more flexible stranded center conductor. Both cables have similar loss characteristics.
